Playing tour guide in my hometown is one of my favourite things to do. The TY family had travelled all the way from the Phillipines, and it was their first time in New Zealand, so, I tailor made a tour of Queenstown that included some of my fave photography locations.
I collected them from their hotel in Queenstown and we took a trip over the Crown Range on route to Wanaka. We jumped in a heli with Wanaka Helicopters for a sunrise flight to the top of Roy’s Peak. It was such a beautiful, peaceful morning passing over the sheep and cows in the farm land below, through the clouds before landing on the peak. The inversion cloud added to the drama of the scenic surrounds. This was the TY’s first time in a helicopter, so we grabbed some snaps to remember this moment as well as taking advantage of the ever-famous Coromandel Peak shot.
The rest of the afternoon was spent driving around Arrowtown, Bob’s Cove and down to my favourite spot in Glenorchy. I made sure to stop at the bakery for a famous meat pie and at the Glenorchy farm we even made friends with some of the local sheep which was a great experience for the whole family.
I hope you enjoyed exploring my backyard as much as I do!
