The complete guide to getting married in Queenstown, New Zealand
Queenstown. The sweetest little alpine town surrounded by epic mountains, a huge lake and wedding venues a plenty. Why get married in Queenstown you may ask? If you have already visited this wonderful corner of the world you will already know the answer, if you are yet to visit then let me help you a little.
The scenery is inspiring, dramatic and enough to knock your socks off on the flight in. The seasons here in Queenstown are very distinct so whatever one you choose for your special day will be met with exactly what Mother Nature intended. Crisp days surrounded by snow-capped mountains make for a perfect backdrop during the winter months or opt for an autumnal affair where the trees are on fire with those beautiful orange tones. In summer long hot days will greet you and spring will delight you & your guests with blossom everywhere.
Many people travel from overseas to visit Queenstown. Weddings, elopement’s and engagements are aplenty. If you are planning to propose to you loved one then extra brownie points to you for choosing one of the most beautiful places in the world to do so! With mountain peaks as far as the eye can see, the crystal clear waters and the bluest of skies Queenstown will make for an unforgettable location.
Wedding photographers can be versatile to your style. The go to style at present is the natural candid approach capturing the true essence of your day presenting you with snapshots that may have gone unnoticed if it wasn’t for the keen eye of the photographer. You may want to opt for a more traditional wedding photography package with posed shots including some romantic black and white portraits.
Whatever your style, make sure you chat through with your photographer in your initial meeting. Choosing a wedding photographer can be a daunting task but I’m on hand to give you wedding photography tips before & during you shoot to make sure we are all comfortable and you, as newlyweds will receive the best memories from your big day.
You have spent so much time planning your perfect day and want every special moment captured; here are a few tips to ask your photographer before the wedding.
• How would you describe your wedding style?
• Can we give you a list of specific shots we would like?
• Do you charge a travel fee if my wedding is out of the area?
• What time will you arrive & leave our wedding
• What packages do you offer?
When you have squared off some of the logistics and you are totally happy with your choice of photographer then book them in and relax. The beauty of wedding photographers is that they know what they are doing. They have chosen this specific genre for a reason and are always prepared to capture your happiest moments.

Weddings are so much fun and full of love. Here are my three top tips for anyone considering a wedding in this stunning town.
Location Location Location – so important if the photographs are one of the most important aspects of your day, make sure you choose somewhere epic but also somewhere that will capture the true essence of you as a couple.
Have you considered a first look photo shoot? If you have a big day planned with all your friends and family you could get your couple photo’s shot in the morning allowing you more time to spend celebrating with your loved ones an giving you some private time before you say I Do. Plus we LOVE the grooms face when he see’s his bride for the first time!
Do it all again! Something I always hear from newlyweds is that they wish they could do it all again! Well why cant you? If you have time the day after your wedding you could always plan your couple shoot for then, allowing even MORE time with your guests and giving the photographer free run of the whole day to capture those perfect candid photos!
