Brendan & Kate

Love Story:

When Kate met Brendan, she was smitten with his genuine kindness and wicked sense of humor. Today, not only are they both keen amateur triathletes cycling to get to the finish line, they’re also cycling together towards happily ever after. Traveling from Queensland, they celebrated their love with a snowy breeze and the sun highlighting the breathtaking views of Queenstown.

On the Day:

Kate and Brendan came over from Queensland, Australia to elope. The couple stayed at a beautiful Airbnb overlooking the gorgeous Lake Wakatipu up Fernhill which has a stunning view of the Remarkables mountain range, taking advantage of the view, we took some getting-ready shots and had the first look at a balcony, where Brendan saw Kate for the first time wearing her beautiful wedding dress.

We then proceeded to jump in the car to catch our helicopter ride. Arriving at the hangar, we met our celebrant for the ceremony, Ellita Thomas, and we all went to Lake Erskine, which is an Alpine Lake halfway between Queenstown and Milford Sound, deep in Fiordland National Park. Lake Erskine is a high-altitude Alpine Lake, which was still covered in snow at this time of year. Conveniently a patch of snow had melted off the rocks nearest to the lake, so Brendan & Kate were able to stand on them rather than sink their toes into the snow. The couple exchanged vows with each other with the sun shining beautifully, casting a golden glow to the amazing ceremony.

We had a little bit of time to take pictures there before flying to Cecil Peak for the sunset, where we quickly popped a bottle of champagne and toasted the marriage on the mountaintop as the sun went down.
