Joe & Bev

Love Story:

Joe was visiting London for a friend’s wedding when they matched on Tinder and agreed to meet for the perfect no-strings date! It was Bev’s first-ever Tinder date and soon to be her last. One date led to five and they spent the last week of his trip in restaurants, at gigs and wandering through London’s prettiest parks. When the time came for him to fly back to Sydney, it was firmly ‘see you soon.’

A month later, Bev flew to Sydney to spend two weeks with Joe, without a doubt they were in love. Only a few months later they both packed up their lives and moved to Auckland, New Zealand. Nowadays, they enjoy beach walks with their rescue Greyhound Fred, bike rides, hikes and visiting breweries.

They now own a lovely terrace home in Hobsonville and found themselves on a long (and tough) IVF journey. On their wedding day, they announced that they were expecting a precious baby boy.

On the Day:

Joe and Bev stayed at an incredible historic cottage in Arrowtown that they found on Airbnb. It was filled with a huge array of heart-shaped knick-knacks and the wall in the bedroom was covered with vintage mirrors of various shapes and sizes, it was awesome for their getting-ready photos. The property had an old gold mining hut on it and spectacular views of the beautiful autumn colours of Arrowtown. They both got ready in the cottage and they were married on the front veranda by celebrant Phillipa Thomas. It was a moving ceremony and Phillipa read letters written by family and friends from afar.

We got some great photos with the Autumn leaves at The Green in Arrowtown, before we took a drive up to Deer Park Heights. On our way up, we stopped to feed some friendly Donkeys and got some cool photos, which Bev was excited about as she loves Donkeys! We drove around to various spots up there and visited a tarn, we were able to get some reflections of the Remarkables in the background. It had actually snowed the night before and settled on the surrounding hills, which they were thrilled about. The photo shoot was the perfect opportunity to make their two exciting announcements; they had a sign that read “We Tied the knot!” and another to reveal that “It’s a Boy!”
