Nancye + Ty

Love Story:

Nancye and Ty met when they were 19 and 22 and were both living and working remotely in the Outback of Northern Territory, for the Australian Air Force, where they both still work. They have created an abundant life together and when unable to travel, they work on building and landscaping their home and dream of someday having their own home design business for eco-living.

Outside of shared projects, they each celebrate their very own interests, Ty is an enormous movie guru and fan of comics and sci-fi. Nancye is a painter and lover of all things floral and foliage.

On the Day:

It was a beautiful intimate wedding for Nancye and Ty who had travelled all the way from New South Wales, Australia with ten of their closest friends and family members, the youngest being just 5 months old! It was the third attempt at having a wedding, due to Covid restrictions and they were over the moon to be in Queenstown for their special day. They all stayed together at an Airbnb where Nancye got ready with her Mum and best friend Chloe, who helped her into her stunning dress and veil. Nancye also wore an incredible faux fur shrug, which was needed after the fresh Spring snowfall the day before.

We drove to Jack’s Point and Nancye’s Dad helped her out of the car, it was his first time seeing her as a bride, and we got some lovely photos of this special moment. Then it was time for Nancye and Ty to have their first look, we positioned Ty facing away towards the Mountains and Nancye walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder, he was blown away by how beautiful she looked. The stunning ceremony was simply set up, with gorgeous white chairs for the guests and a rug for the “altar,” positioned right in front of The Remarkables, with Celebrant Phillipa Thomas.

Following the ceremony, we got some great group photos, including some funny shots of the guys posing with bouquets. Then the videographer Tom and I snuck off with Nancye and Ty to Deer Heights for some Couple Shots. They popped champagne and celebrated, surrounded by freshly snow-powdered mountains, which made the whole day even more magical, especially for the Aussies who hadn’t seen snow before.
