Jessica & Steve’s Queenstown Winter Wedding
Steve and Jessica met right here in Queenstown. Steve all the way from the States and Jessica hopping over the pond from Sydney, it was at a church group where they first laid eyes on each other. Steve was working for the Church in the accounts department and one day during a Church workshop the now newlyweds struck up a friendship. Soon after meeting Steve had to travel overseas for work. During this time, a text message conversation had these lovebirds hooked, realising that this may be more than just a friendship.
When Steve returned to Queenstown, they had their first date at a local coffee shop and things got serious. Fast forward two years and back in the same coffee shop, followed by a romantic walk on the lakefront where Steve had set up candles and flowers on the Jetty (serious boyfriend points) he popped that all important question, which brings us to this day.
We had been promised rain and after a dreary two weeks of Queenstown Winter weather we were not expecting to wake to a gorgeous bluebird day. Jessica and Steve had decided on a Winter wedding with a church ceremony at the beautiful St Johns Church in Arrowtown, followed by a reception at Lake Hayes. The church has a gorgeous stained-glass window and beautiful blue wooden doors, every detail was covered & the guitarist and singer was a lovely touch for the ceremony.
Jess’s family travelled from Sydney to be here for the special day while Steve’s family made a big trip from the States. Jess opted to get ready at an incredible holiday home overlooking The Remarkables mountain range, where her family had been staying for the past week. While finishing off everyone’s outfits, Jess went to pin the flower to her Dad’s suit and no one had a pin, it certainly made everyone in the room laugh & settled some of those wedding day nerves.
The whole day was beautiful, from start to finish. Jess and Steve are two of the loveliest, most down to earth people I have ever met, even stopping on their big day to ask if I was having a good time – how considerate is that? We travelled over to the Remarkables after the ceremony for some private time and to capture their love.
Thank you for letting me be part of your big day & here’s to you two & blissful married life.
