Stunning Summer Elopement at Coronet Peak in Queenstown

Elopement in Queenstown Sequia + Lucus

Is it cheesy if I tell you that dreams really do come true? Maybe it is but here’s the thing: dreams really do come true! I know this because they did for Sequoia and Lucas.
Years ago Sequoia was on Pinterest saving pins of beautiful places and one of the pins that she saved was of Stoneridge Estate in Queenstown. She didn’t know where it was at the time, just that she would love to stay in a place like it someday.
Fast forward a few years and she is looking for a place to marry her Fiance, Lucas, and you can imagine her surprise when she finds out her dream destination is in Queenstown.
What makes it even more special and magical is that Sequoia is Australian, Lucas is Brazilian and they live in Auckland so their perfect wedding was just a short flight away. With Covid19 wreaking havoc on the world of travel, they decided on an elopement in Queenstown and of course, they chose the beautiful Stoneridge Estate to stay at.
I met them at the self-contained cottage with its big double windows that overlook the vineyard below and Lake Hayes in the distance and I understood immediately why Sequoia had wanted to stay at this magical place. The view was spectacular and we spent a long time here taking shots of them getting ready. We went downstairs and did the first look photos in the beautiful gardens.
Their friend was the celebrant and we all went up to Coronet Peak for the intimate ceremony. A live stream was set up so that their families back home could all join in with the celebrations. It was a perfect, beautiful night and flower petals were thrown over the couple and carried away on the warm breeze after the ceremony.
We drove to the helipad to get to The Ledge at Cecil Peak for sunset. The magical day continued with the perfect flying conditions, the most stunning light, and a spectacular sunset for the happy couple.
Congratulations Sequoia and Lucas, thank you for reminding me that magic really does exist.
